Create an itinerary including Darkwood Beach
Unwind away from the crowds at Darkwood Beach, an Antiguan beach that offers great snorkeling and a secluded retreat. Turquoise clear waters and a small reef close to the shore provide an excellent spot for beginners to practice their snorkeling or swim in calm waters. A long stretch of white crystal sands is interrupted only by a beach bar, which rents snorkeling equipment, as well as serving refreshing snacks and offering restrooms. If you’ve got the kids with you, then the inflatable aquatic playground often set up in the bay will keep them entertained for hours, while you enjoy a cold drink and some peace and quiet. • Recommended as a nice beach near the cruise port. Plenty of taxis to take you on a less than :20 drive over to the Caribbean side of the island with calmer seas. Sand was soft with very few rocks...

  • Today is just day two of my adventure in Antigua. I have to say this beach was absolutely gorgeous, I did not feel like a tourist. I felt like I belong completely, the staff at the restaurant felt like family, so kind and polite and helpful warm and welcoming. I have a few other beaches on my list that I’d like to explore before I return home but I really prefer to come back here because it was just that nice the views, the water, the cleanliness, the friendliness it was all the vibes!!!! Oh and they have hookah, SOLD!
  • My favourite beach all over Antigua! This is a gem! Easy car park and few local shops to eat some food.
  • The crab shells are crazy cool. Sand is nice but waves are wild. Beautiful water and views. Some nice locals.. some ok haha
  • Beautiful beach! Convenient parking on the side of the road just steps away from the beach.
  • Nice beach with the perfect wave .. (not too strong and not too weak) .. sandy beach with no water shoes needed . Plenty of parking on the street.
