Climb to observe the mysterious rock formations at Ayo Rock Formations. Scientists are unsure how the rock formations formed on a flat, arid island, but they speculate that the sea’s previously high levels aided in their formation. At the two locations you can view large, oddly shaped boulders that resemble birds and dragons. Nearby, look for ancient carvings to observe. Cacti surround the rocks and many lizards and birds can be viewed. Restrooms are available for a fee. • Very nice rock formation, accessible on a main paved road. The setting is interesting, with cacti, natural vegetation, and small animal life. There are native paintings on some of the rocks...

  • Haven't been there in many years. Much more to explore, including small trails and quite interesting rocks! Stop in the store for souvenirs or a chat. I reminisced with the store woman. Very pleasing. Outside bar as well! It's free
  • Well the best part is free. The park consists of several piles of rocks. There is a steep climb up the steps to the main rock formation. Take your time up there. Most impressive part is the view. You can see all sides of the island including the cruise ships docked in Oranjestad. It is located in a residential area with some low lying houses, so the view is unobstructed. A bar and souvenir shop is located across the road.
  • Nice experience! Stairs were cut into the biggest rock, so you could get to the top and see the magnificent views. There was no wait and no need for tickets when we visited.
  • Incredible views from this 500 thousand ton Boulder. Set in a garden of catcus and rock a unique view of this side of Aruba. Caution, the climb is not for everyone, one side is about 50 steps up, though various heights of rock. And the climb down the other side has steps approx 6-10 inches high.
  • Very fascinating, especially if you have a good tour guide like we did, who can point out funny and outlandish shapes in the rocks. Nothing earth-shattering here, but Aruba is a small island and it's a worthy wat-point on a tour.
