  • Cold refreshing water was excellent after a day tripping around. Yes there are March flies, but they are better to deal with than crocodiles.

  • This is an enchanting place. There’s a camping area and day use area with great facilities. There are some safe swimming holes but much of it is fast moving water with dangerous drops. Next time I come to Cairns I will definitely schedule a few days camping here.
  • such unique scenes. You have to swim in the freshwater here, it is so clear and refreshing and tranquil. Not as rocky as other spots so you’re not constantly fumbling around. Cute little picnic benches and bbqs all around for lunch. Nice little trails to visit a couple of lookouts. I loved this spot!
  • Great place to visit. Even to cool off and have a swim. If you like to hike there is a hiking track. One is 19.5km one way. Otherwise short walk it to the beautiful viewing decks.. Plenty of parking and a ramp to the river and to toilets for disabled. Lovely little town too...bakery ,fresh fish, butchers op shops etc....selling local produce and jewellery and art etc from locals. Just one thing....shops close early ...around 2pm
  • Very scenic and green place with the river carving through giant boulders. Visited in November, it was drizzling and it made the place look more beautiful. There’s free car parking, restrooms and dedicated camping zones. There are walkways taking you down to all the view points. Can get slippery and rough if there’s lot of water.
  • Lovely picnic area and swimming hole! Very accessible for kids (no climbing over rocks or down tricky paths, both shallow and deep water), lots of amenities too! Beautiful!
