The longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, Busselton Jetty stretches almost 2 km (1.2 mi) into the sea and ends with an underwater observatory. From a depth of 8 m (26 ft) below sea level, you can observe over 300 marine species, including colorful tropical corals and a variety of fish, sponges, and invertebrates swimming right in front of the observatory's 11 viewing windows. Children enjoy the Jetty Train, which seats around 50 visitors. This unusual train trip across the sea offers views of frolicking dolphins and local fishermen snatching their catch. Often described as Australia's greatest artificial reef, this jetty serves up both education and recreation. • The jetty is 1.845 km long and makes for a fabulous walk out to the end and small aquarium. The views are magic as you walk through people fishing. You can take a small train if you like though we preferred the walk. The jetty is in spotless condition. Make sure you bring a sun hat. Cost to walk was only $4, a great investment.
  • Booked the train trip, was great to learn about the history of the jetty as told via the commentary. Only had 8 minutes to spare at the end of the jetty before having to jump back on for return trip. Would have liked a little more time to experience the top end. Very enjoyable otherwise 😌
  • Went to Busselton as my son competed in the triathlon so we went on the jetty walk and tour on one his relaxation day and we caught the little electric train up and went in the underwater observation deck. Quite good and very interesting but our tour was full and would have been better if less people were there. So choose a time when its not heavily booked for better results. We ended up walking the 1.8 kilometres back and it is an enjoyable stroll but is a must do especially if you have kiddies with you
  • The whole experience - the Busselton Visitor Information Centre, the Jetty, Jetty Museum and the Train ride to the end of the jetty and back was awesome. I love history and I learned so much about this fascinating part of Busselton history I did not know. Great displays and well appointed visitor centre. Happy to pay for the train tickets as the monies raised goes towards maintaining this unique part of our history. Will come back and do this again as the Underwater Observatory was closed. Busselton has done a mighty job to make this attraction so interesting as well as beautifully landscaping the foreshore area by the jetty. Very family friendly. A great playground for children, good amenities and caters for disability access.
  • We did the train ride and under water observatory tour, it was excellent and I highly recommend it to anyone considering. The volunteers are so friendly and knowledgeable, the train ride was fun and the views in the observatory were amazing. My advice - - Book in advance - Go during the week if you want to avoid the crowds. - Line up for the train 15 minute before departure if you want to sit together. Adult only tour time slots would be cool, so many screaming kids 😑😂
