Nestled under the canopy of a lush rainforest, Josephine Falls is a popular recreation site where you can take a plunge in a crystal clear swimming hole or laze on large rocks. Wearing water shoes will make scrambling over slippery rocks easier. After splashing around, make use of the picnic tables and barbecues near the parking. Observation decks on the way to the falls offer great views. Absolutely amazing. Would go back again in a heartbeat. We went during a torrential downpour so the water was much higher and murkier than the photos but it was still amazing. You can still go down...

A hidden gem that comes up easily as place to visit, the falls is absolutely gorgeous and a good place to take a dip and have some fun with friends and family. Easily accessible after a short walk, the only thing everyone needs to be aware and mindful of is the annoying bush flies.

Beautiful waterfall and swimming hole, have to climb over some rocks to swim but not too difficult. Lovely clear water. Shady areas under trees or can lie in sun. Didn’t need reef shoes as rocks are not sharp and bottom of swimming hole is just sand. Had a great time!

Absolutely beautiful. The path to reach the falls is only 700m and is paved - nice and easy, and you could definitely do it with a pram. The swimming pool is beautiful, with so many little crevices and hiding holes. There were so many amazing electric blue dragonflies. Take care - the rocks can be slippery and the current can be stronger than it looks. There is a rock slide that people go down but I can't recommend it - saw many people slip at the top. If you go in the morning the water can be a bit cold! Be sure to obey the signs - if it says no swimming, then don't swim - it's not worth it. Would absolutely return one day .

Absolutely beautiful spot. We came at 3pm (a little bit too late, since the sun was setting and it was quite cold) but the views were so worth it. Josephine Falls kinda reminds me of a hybrid between Crystal Cascades and Babinda Boulders, where you can see waterfall after waterfall, while also chilling on the huge boulders on the side. You just need to be careful because the currents can get pretty strong and 15 people have died here before. This spot has definitely been a highlight of my northern Queensland trip so far!

Beautiful place! Really stunning location, if you can make the ~hour drive from Cairns, it’s a must and stop in at the Babinda Bakery on your way. Waters fairly easy to get into but can be tricky at points but once you’re in, it’s definitely worth the effort.
