Captain Cook Memorial and Lighthouse, Gold Coast

The Covid pandemic will definitely end soon. This place also witnessed a period of lockdown here. Now I feel so good to be free. Carry On and flourish Australia, My beautiful and amazing country.

Right on the border of Qld and NSW, it literally runs under the memorial lighthouse. It separates the twin towns of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta. They didn't realise the twin towns feeling until Covid-19 and the border closed. The memorial lighthouse commemorates the discovery of area by the British explorer Captain James Cook. The area on the Queensland side has a lovely lookout and commemorative walk examining the maritime ships and lives lost during WWII.

If you are looking to find out a bit of history about Captain Cook, definitely pay a visit here. Great views as well plus it's divided down the middle between NSW/QLD.

The Captain Cook Memorial stand on Point Danger straddling the two States of Qld and Nsw. Under the memorial you can stand with a foot in each State. It's a fantastic spot to see the sunrise. And also catch the whales when heading north in winter. Below this is Duranbah Beach . D'bah to locals. Very popular surfing spot for surfers and sometimes dolphins.Shame we don't have the old coffee shop, but a new one is to be included in the new building.
