Enjoy 360-degree views of the Sunshine Coast from Mount Coolum, a roughly circular volcanic dome rising abruptly from the coastal plain. The dome, largely formed by volcanic rocks over 25 million years old, rises to a 208 meter (682 ft) peak, with steep cliffs on the southern side and a disused quarry occupying the eastern foothills. Climb to the top to observe the area’s impressive botanical diversity, which includes over 700 different species of plants. Keep in mind that this track to the top should not be started after rain or late in the day, as the trail becomes very steep, rough, and dangerously slippery when wet.     Climbed the mountain. Does get steep at the top but the view is excellent. Well maintained path but you do need good fitness for the top sections. Definitely take a water bottle if warm.

    OK this is a short climb and you can go up and down within an hour with fantastic views in the middle and at the top. I live at the bottom of the mountain and drive to other places as it is...

    Quite steep, with lots of stairs, but not too long. Worth all the stairs with magnificent views from the top. Popular walk.
