Create an itinerary including Cradle Mountain
One of Tasmania's most visited natural attractions and home to the famous Tasmanian devil, Cradle Mountain draws tourists with its beautiful landscapes and diverse wildlife. The mountain is situated within a national park that encompasses rugged peaks, grasslands, alpine heaths, ancient rainforests, and glacial lakes. Start your hike to the summit from the Dove Lake early in the morning. The climb is long and can be difficult for inexperienced (or out of shape) tourists. When you reach the peak, your effort will be awarded with memorable views over Tasmanian wilderness. • This was definitely the highlight of our Tazzie trip. Bus takes you in and can drop you off at where ever you want to go. We had a fantastic bus driver who should be on stage with his own comedy act.....  more

  • Great place to spend time to relax or maybe just stroll along the edge of Dove lake, bus takes you in and drops you off so there's no issue parking

  • One of the best preserved natural place to have the wonderful view of mountain peaks and walk around the lakes. You will experience the forest Walk when you go around the Nova lakh . Stunning views and landscapes.
  • A sunny day and the stunning mountain welcomed with an open arms and clean fresh air! A gorgeous and breathtaking views all around you! A must see place when you visit Tasmania!
  • Mature scenic spots with professional shuttle buses. The service attitude of the staff is friendly, and the park can meet the needs of different levels of hiking.
  • Stunning mountain range, good luck if you're going for the summit near the end of the season. Frosty conditions and limited daylight hours add to the difficulty. The starting point is at Kitchen Hut, where you can leave your main backpack.
  • Went last week. Overcast day so didn't climb to the top. Walking tracks around the base were great. Scenic and pretty. Try not to wear too many layers, by the end of the dove lake track we were boiling. The boat house would have been good if there wasnt so many people standing around it. Toilets at the beginning of the dove lake walk where the shuttle drops you off. Don't miss the last shuttle, it can be busy. The smaller walks were also great, 2 days wasn't enough to explore everything.
