  • Hot tea from a pot at the table instead of waiting staff with lukewarm tea and coffee, they regular milk had "run out". Fruit scones were like rock cakes served with jam and cream?

  • Magnificent place to discover the beautiful mansion and huge garden surrounding. It was owned by a private English man back then in 1800s, now it is belonged to the National Trust. Very antique design with spectacular interior deco. The garden is huge too with big lake and many picnic spots. On the day that we went, they also have maker's market with food and hand-made goods too. Can easily spend a day here. Good to bring your family for a day out. Suitable for any ages. Highly recommended!
  • What a beautiful house and gardens. This felt like walking on to the set of The Great Gatsby! Such expansive and well designed gardens and the house sat proudly overlooking the estate. We were there for a performance which was fantastic and used the grounds so well. We didn't go in to the house but we'd definitely be back to explore again at a later date. Getting there was a breeze with a very quick train from Richmond station and then a really interesting walk down the main shopping village.
  • Beautiful interiors. Garden is good as well. Good spots at places for taking photos. Only suggestion would be that they allow visit of the mansion without the guided tour as well. Currently you can only visit indoor of the mansion if you opt for guided tour and then you have to listen to all the history which may or may not be of interest for all.
  • Had a wonderful morning here. Gardens are beautiful and so much to look at - the gardens, fernery, tennis court, pool, lake… Went on a tour of the house - so interesting. The guide was wonderful- very interesting and engaging.
  • One of the best gardens in Melbourne. Absolutely stunning. We went on a Sunday when the Makers Trust Markets were on and it was a fantastic vibe. Gold coin entry, plenty of picnic spots and lots to explore.
