Old Kempton Distillery, Kempton

Nice place to taste a surprising selection of Tasmanian whiskeys. Nice location with information on whiskey making, decent food with the whiskey and a friendly team. We really enjoyed our time and also took some whiskey home. It is a bit on the expensive side, but certainly something very special to bring back from Tasmania.

A truly excellent experience of whisky and service! We had a fantastic time at the cafe, the tour was really detailed thanks to their bottling team and Hannah, and the cask lounge experience was delightful. I had the chance to try so much of the whiskies there and they were all really wonderful. My favourite currently is the Sextet, the Solera cask, and the Sherry Cask. Their gins are also superb, as are the Lavender and Apple liquors. What a fantastic way to start 2022!

A Whiskey flight tasting was the standard $30 which seems to be the average for 4 x 15ml tastings. You get to choose from 8 on offer. A great selection of single malt whiskeys from this region. The food also on offer was reasonably priced and delicious. Also offered other tastings of gin and liqueurs if Whiskey is not your thing. Staff all very friendly.

Wonderful place, people and highly awards products. Strongly recommend visiting this heritage property with so much to offer, see, enjoy and experience inside and out side. They distil onsite and make such a sensational range of gins, whisky and liqueurs. Plus a gift shop with perfect presentation boxes and a range of local hand made products alongside their spirits. Delicious food and best coffee in town. The Fund raiser for the toy run (under the Christmas tree), is being well supported. Highly recommend, take a tour and get a taste of what Old Kempton Distillery is all about.

I highly recommend this experience.We went with a group for lunch and had a guided tour of the distillery. This is a beautiful old building. We were made very welcome by our guide who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Meals were very reasonably priced,beautifully presented and had something for everybody. All meals came out quickly and were delicious. Staff were excellent and made us all feel very at home. Whisky tasting onsite and a really well laid out shop. 5 stars guys *****keep up the great work
