Watch water cascade over a 30 m (98 ft) drop, one of the highest drops in the Otways at Erskine Falls. Climb the stone and timber steps to access two viewing platforms. From here, you can photograph the falls from the front. The path to the lower platform has around 300 steps straight up from the base of the falls; there are rest areas along the way. A visit to Erskine Falls represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Lorne trip itinerary planner to plot your vacation.

I didn't know walking in this first could be so thrilling! Took many pics of the rainforest. I had to trek 200 m to see the waterfalls but it was worth it! Even crossed halfway through the river...

Recently visited Erskine Falls and was mesmerized by its beauty and tranquility. The falls cascade down a steep cliff in three tiers, with a deep pool of water at the bottom. The viewing platform at the top of the falls provides an incredible view of the falls and the lush greenery of the Otway National Park. The walk down to the bottom of the falls is easy, and the pool of water is perfect for swimming and relaxing. The area around the falls is full of wildlife. The falls are also a great spot for photography, with its unique vantage point and the stunning scenery. I highly recommend visiting Erskine Falls if you're ever in the area. It's a truly spectacular sight and a great way to spend an afternoon and make sure to wear appropriate shoes.

Get ready to climb approx 244 steps after viewing the magnificent view of Erskine falls. It's fun to go close to the waterfall but you have to be very careful. Very slippery surface. Make sure you don't fall down. Rare mobile reception so enjoys the beauty of nature. Spend at least an hour and relax

A definite visit if in the area! Erskine Falls has two viewing platforms (a high and low), a river trail and open to get up close to the falls. The lower viewing platform is via a 220m steep decent, so be prepared for the walk back up. The upper viewing platform is an easy 80m flatish walk. 🚗 Small car park and there is no parking restrictions on the road shoulder on the way in. Local guide tips: -Come in the afternoon to avoid crowds and easier to get a park. -Wear water shoes if you have them.

My faves of the waterfalls/river walks in the area... beautiful and the river walk looks amazing! We only the first 10 mins... the full walk is a grade 4, 3 hour one way hike, so decided we'd come back for it, but if you love to explore, this is one for you... it's not an easy track, but has multiple river crossings and a fun track with rocks and tree roots to clamber over. Pack good hiking shoes and water if doing the walk!

Erskine Falls is one of many waterfalls I visited in Victoria. A short diversion from the Great Ocean Road and around 15 minutes from Lorne. Parking close to the 30metre cascade, or have fun as part of a long walk via lush rainforest. The lookout point has scenic views and it is recommended to visit with your family. Easy to walk in but was crowded when we went there.
