  • Excellent sand play playground. Whole area is fenced. Bathrooms nearby but not directly beside the playground. Slides, swings, balance beans, spider web, rope tunnel lots of areas where adults can sit and watch around the sandstone walls
  • Good mix of walking trails for different fitness levels, some wildlife out and about, great views and some waterfalls if you go at the right time.
  • Did the Waratah Trail. Didn't see any Waratah plants along the trail at all, although there were many other plants, and quite a few birds. Quiet walk during the week. Also visited West Head lookout and Akuna Bay.
  • Took the America Bay Walk with the wife & my 2 boys. The walk wasn't bad, it took us about 30 - 35 minutes one way before it said that the rest of walk is closed because ahead is unstable. At that sign there is a lookout that was still accessible which was amazing and great for taking photos, but that was all, the area there was fairly small so it was not suitable for the kids to run freely, all we could do at the lookout was enjoying the view, taking photos and resting. We stayed there for about 1 hour before deciding to head back to the car. The wayback took us approximately the same amount of time (30- 35 minutes). The America bay is ok for families however don't expect to spend a whole day there, maybe other walks are better, however they may be more difficult than this one and aren't suitable for families with little kids. To us, it wasn't worth the drive (more than 1 hour) and the walk (more than 1 hour return).
  • Its a great place. We live right in the middle of this beautiful peaceful area. Come stay with us at Brooklyn Motel. People who come here say why didn't we come earlier.
