Callington Mill Distillery is a historic tower mill built in 1837 by John Vincent, a successful local proprietor. Extensively restored in 2010, this is the only operating mill of its type in the Southern Hemisphere and the third oldest windmill in Australia. The mill site includes a windmill, granary, stable, miller’s cottage, and a mill owner’s house. Stop by for a guided tour of the Mill Precinct and see locally sourced flour ground using the same methods employed over 120 years ago. Visitors can also climb the mill’s internal stairs for a view across Oatlands village and the surrounding area, noted for a large number of well-preserved colonial sandstone buildings. What a beautiful place. We stopped here on the way to Hobart. We didn't get to stay long but did look around and it is a place that you must visit if you are in Oatlands. It was very busy. The mill and the old building's are amazing. I would go back if holiday in Tasmania again. Oatlands is a beautiful town and i feel that it's under rated i would recommend it to anyone heading to Hobart.

An amazing experience! We did the Whiskey semi self guided tour with Josè. A wonderful way to understand the process of distilling Whiskey. 🥃 About $50 but includes four generous samples. Thank you for the great time team Callington!

Wonderful to walk through the old mill and surrounding historic buildings. Interactive video inside the buildings showcases the history of Oatlands. Lovely to look back in time.

Was great to finally come and visit the distillery. Have been watching closely when visiting my parents in town. Unfortunately lockdown and personal injury has kept me away for sometime but was great to finally see what your all about. I look forward to future visits and hope to come back again before I head home in October.

Service and coffee phenomenal. Staff are courteous, not pushy, friendly. Extremely comfortable venue, extremely clean. Coffee is the best I've had whilst I've been in Tasmania.
