Create an itinerary including Twelve Apostles
Sculpted by harsh winds and steady waves of the Southern Ocean, Twelve Apostles includes a group of eight limestone stacks--the ninth collapsed in 2005--that emerge from the shallows of the marine national park. The tallest of the crumbling pillars rises up to the height of 50 m (160 ft). The underwater scenery is even more dramatic, featuring some deep sloping reefs with habitats of kelp forests and colorful sponge gardens. These impressive rock stacks are arguably most beautiful when bathed in early morning light, when little penguins can be seen nesting in caves below them. • It's better than I expected it to be, its incredible to see the large masses seperated from the beach. The colors are incredible. It's really a beautiful site to behold. Take your time to set the phone aside and enjoy the view.
  • At the Southern part of Australia, there are huge and small natural monument on the shores of the beach. Really nice and amazing to see their stature with audacious looks. Really don't know why they are called "Twelve Apostles".
  • It’s a long drive from Melbourne until you start the drive at Great Ocean Road we drove approx. 250 Km and found wonderful places on the way until we reached at the sunset time at 12 apostles! A beautiful scenic view and the best part is that you don’t pay any entrance. See the pictures. Awesome…
  • Visited in 12 Apostles numerous times in past Two decades. Long journey no matter where I come from, either from South Australia or Melbourne, or NSW, always held with excitement. Maybe this place witnessed my partial life, I always had and have strong emotion on these stone that stood here millions years. Glad to see these limestone never changed from its profile.
  • I loved this place as I visited all the beaches alongside reaching the final destination of the twelve apostles. The journey and destination are peaceful souls soothing. If I get a chance again will go again.
