Douglas Vale Historic Homestead & Vineyard, Port Macquarie

This place is managed by a not-for-profit and run by volunteers. The old house has its own interesting history, and the winery is also quite nice, including its gardens and bamboos. When you think about the amount of work required of winery owners to get something like this off the ground, it is an amazing job the volunteers have been doing here over the years. They don't have their own wine-makers, but use the service of nearby wineries to assist with the process, although the grapes every year do get hand-picked by volunteers.They have a few offerings including Port. Their wines aren't overly expensive but you feel it's money well spent. People should come here more and listen to their stories as well as tasting the nice wine and taking in the natural beauty.

Tours & Wine Tasting , Saturday -Sunday & Wednesday 10am to 3pm , 235 Oxley Highway Port Macquarie NSW.. Dates back to 1859 and runs by volunteers that do a marvellous job keeping our history alive & keeping it maintained, thankyou....

Great community run wine estate. Lovely museum and grounds. Knowledgable tour guide and free wine tasting. They also sell their wines and some plants from the onsite nursery. Totally run by volunteers. No charge to visit.

Awesome historical vineyard run by volunteers, really enjoyed the wine tasting and had to buy a few bottles.

The most wonderful venue Amazing staff. Ever so helpful . Will recommend
