  • Stunning finish to the Larapinta Trail. Having trekked 14 days from Alice Springs, this final leg was completed under a full moon before dawn, walking with our headlamps turned off. Utterly bewitching and really made us reflect on the thousands of years of occupation of this land before European arrival. Crowded on top but views of the rising sun (and setting moon) were easy to find and well worth sharing! WARNING: can be dangerously cold at night, and dangerously hot during the day. Be prepared for extreme conditions and a six hour hike.
  • Great views. It's a very rewarding hike and not a particularly difficult one. I'd highly recommend a pre-dawn start to watch the sunrise.
  • Climbed from Red Bank Gorge. Along the way, you will walk along the ridge here and there, so the views to the left and right are wonderful. However, there is no shade, and there are places where only broken stones are stepped on, so be careful when walking.
