A 25 min drive out of Cairns CBD to find a neat swimming hole just at the base of the Falls. Mind you the fish here are not shy, they'd swim right beside you too. Plenty of parking available with public toilets & change room. I highly recommend getting some reef shoes as the rocks and pebbles in the water are quite sharp. We got ours at Big W for $8! Cheap and very effective 👌 and you can use them to chase more waterfalls.

Lovely hike up the mountain with my 3 year old son and wife. It was springing with rain which added to the rainforest experience. After the hike, we went for a swim in the waterfall. Such an amazing experience watching the fish swim by while we lazed around. Definitely a must while visiting Cairns.

Really nice place to visit if you are in Cairns. First swim spot is 5 mins walk, 2nd one 7/8 mins and 3rd or last one where falls start around 14/15 mins easy walk on road , no stairs or muddy road. Toilets and change room available in car park area.

Well worth the hike. There are many places to swim and the walk there is comfortable. It’s a paved path and shaded for most of the walk. There are seats/tables along the way for those needing a rest. The fall itself is also impressive but it’s the whole experience together that makes it so nice.
