Today, winemaker Colin Campbell and his brother, viticulturist Malcolm Campbell are the custodians of the family tradition, along with their wives Prue and Jenny and their children.

Campbells is a proud member of Australia's First Families of Wine - a group of 12 like-minded and respected generational winemaking families who have come together to help take the heart and soul of Australia's wine industry to the world.

Visited the cellar door on Thursday afternoon and there was a beautiful roaring fireplace which was a lovely touch, being in the middle of winter. There is an extensive wine list which includes aromatic white wines, dry red wines and sweet fortified wines. It was cold outside on my visit, but it looks like there is heaps of outdoor seating surrounded by rose bushes and vines which would get used in the warmer months.

I have been visiting Campbells winery for almost 40 years because I love the great range of wonderful wines, the friendly knowledgeable staff and the relaxing setting. I particularly enjoy the iconic Bobbie Burns and Brothers Shirazs as well as the special Durif , Sixties Block and fantastic range of fortified wines.

Reminiscent after 40 year absence this fantastic family vineyard is world class. The cellar door and garden surrounds are very comfortable, calm, special and welcoming. Even by motorbike from Hobart it is worth the trip.

Settled in to read a book and enjoy a glass of wine by the large comfy indoor fireplace. The wines and fortified were great, staff were delightful. Cheese plates looked good too. The winery cat did was gorgeous. Wonderful experience.

Best winery experience I had in Rutherglen. Amazing service and great selection of wines. I went mid-week and just called in (no booking). A great tradition tasting at the counter chatting with the cellar door hostess.
