A nice little walk around the wetlands. Lots of mozzies. A little eerie as we were the only ones there. It was nice though!

A fantastic place to go for a walk, picnic, or a bout of bird watching. There are plenty of different areas to explore, my favourite being the boardwalk in the rainforest section. Takes around two hours at a casual pace to explore most of the park.
-
Delightful and serene, wide paths wending around multiple lakes. Bird life is amazing & we were enchanted by the fish and turtles. There are park benches dotted throughout and a number of hides. Very tidy and beautifully maintained by Cairns Regional Council. Good car parking and toilets onsite.
-
Beautiful wetlands to visit, a few walks between 600meters and 1.25klms.lots of birdlike and a variety of plantd
-
Paths form a grid almost like a formal garden with some flower beds replaced with lakes. Designed to impress and succeeds in it. The main lake looks like a vast floodplain, the shaded area is a deep forest and clearings are meadows. Habitats are presented on a scale that wildlife can live there yet the whole area could be covered on foot in an hour, could be without stopping which is hard to do with so so much to see.
-
Beautiful area to walk through, and each of the lakes has its own character. Great place for birding. There can also be some crocodiles around, but we didn’t see any. Make sure you bring some mozzie spray, some areas were pretty bad with insects.
