Explore Sydney’s history at Customs House, one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. This historic building was constructed in 1845 and served as the headquarters of the Customs Service for over 150 years. Today, the building is a popular venue for art exhibitions and private functions, and is home to the city’s main library. On the ground floor visitors can see a scale model of the city’s central business district, viewed through a glass floor. You can also eat, drink, meet up with friends, read newspapers, and browse the internet at this vibrant public space featuring a magazine salon and several trendy bars and restaurants. The Circular Quay, where the building is located, is a convenient place to start or end your tour of the city. • More on Customs House surrounded accessible establishments highly recommended to check it out, stays, eat, play and things to do and to see…
  • Vivid shows lights up the customs house facade attracts tons of people gathering around and sitting on the ground in the front yard. For Sydney with LOVE it says
  • One of Sydney's iconic historic locations with incredible views of the harbour. Love the library and the ground floor model of Sydney to walk on. A must visit for anyone in the area.
  • Excellent place to receive brochures about what is going on in the city. An interesting in floor display of a map of Sydney but which fortunately is covered by glass which is so scratched it is so difficult to see it. The upper floor has some photographs but is frankly a waste of time.
  • Love the library at customs house. The coffee shop and museum. Great spot for family friends and tourists. Be sure to visit soon.
