Take a self-guided walk through Loch Ard Gorge and experience the forces of the wind and the sea, shaping this rugged scenery for thousands of years. Steeped in history, this wild stretch of coastline remains known for the abundance of shipwrecks that have perished under the frothing sea. Notice the two pillars--named Tom and Eva after the two sole survivors of 1878 Loch Ard shipwreck--guarding the shore from the rough waves. A series of steps lead down to a wild beach offering stunning views along the way. To learn more about the area's history, visit a small museum nearby. It was a cold blowy day and as I walked there I didn't know what to expect. Yes I knew the story of the shipwreck so I knew it would be unfriendly sea's but boy what scenery! Unfriendly was most...

For pure excitement, Loch Ard George has no equal. The Loch Ard was a sailing ship that was wrecked at the Gorge. Only two people survived the shipwreck. Looking at the surging waters, it's a wonder..... more

Magical part of the Australian coastline, these photos were taken from an outcrop that you get to from a road that is not marked about 10 min out of Port Campbell. Like the apostles the high cliffs and water inlets make for some amazing photographs and visual memories that will last for a lifetime. With caves all along some accessible and some not, Loch Are Gorge will take a couple of days to really absorb it all.

A must visit! There are a few stairs but they aren't steep or too many. Unless you have a lot of difficulty with stairs, highly recommend the walk down to enjoy the gorge up close! If not, the view from the top is also amazing! My pics don't do it justice as it was slightly cloudy when I visited.

One of the attraction when come to great ocean road in Australia. Beautiful erosion over million years by the sea, wine and sand! One day it may collapse overtime! Worth a visit for first time visit and my last visit probably 20 over years ago .. still looks as beautiful!

One of the most beautiful and must watch place in the Great Ocean Road. Great views with excellent picturesque opportunities. 100 meters walk from car park and then there's steep steps leading down to the gorge. Not wheelchair and dog friendly.

One of the beautiful place i visited on my trip to great ocean road. Its a next stop after 12 apostle. The view is great. The cliff, ocean view, the warm sand. Its just so relaxing. However swimming is not recommend. U can still go into the water and take a dip and stay sunbathing later on. Its on ur risk.. I saw many people swimming there, as it was very 🌞 ☀️ sunny day.
