Bago Vineyards and Bago Maze, Wauchope

Wow! What a beautiful place to visit. Definitely worth visiting even for a quick picnic. The customer service was great! I think most staff were family and they made sure you were safe and gave you a warm welcome. The wine tasting, the meat & cheese platter, the long natural wood table underneath the jacaranda tree overlooking at the maze and right next to you is the grapevine flourishing with fruits made our visit sensational. Cheers to the owner for sharing your place!

The maze was fun for the kids, navigating through the course with extra water obstacles (on a rainy day), and having to deal with pressure of the bladder while not knowing how to get out. At the end of all the drama, we headed over to the winery for some sampling and a snack off the meat/cheese platter. Overall, it was a great outing, would have been even better on a sunny day!

Bago Maze & Winery has been the highlight of our entire holiday in Port Macquarie!! The moment you arrive and are greeted by Kate, the sweetest bubbliest soul who makes you feel so welcome, you know the 4km trek up the gravel road was well worth it. Then you have a chance to take in the breathtaking views over the vineyard, the green rolling hills and down to the incredible maze. If you’re heading there for a winery experience with wine tasting & a delicious cheese or charcuterie platter, book ahead. Once you arrive you choose the wines for tasting, grab your platter and head off to one of the many tables available on the beautiful grounds. We spent at least 2hrs enjoying our wines and platter whilst being entertained by families going through the maze. Listening to the squeals of delight from the children as they led their parents in circles, was the sweetest experience. Laughing as we watched them become more and more hopelessly lost but then cheering once they finally emerged, successful. Our turn came and we too, provided others with the same entertainment whilst they enjoyed their wine and platter. Walking in circles lost and wondering if we’d end up sleeping in this massive maze. With plenty of laughs and perseverance, we finally emerged successful after 45mins. Exhausted ready to buy a few delicious wines and treats before heading back to our resort. An absolute must do if you’re visiting the area. You won’t be disappointed! Bago, thanks for having us it was an absolute pleasure 🥰

Great experience for the whole family but perhaps avoid the maze after the rain as you will get wet feet. Selection of cheese and sliced meat platters along with range of wines to buy (all wine samples are $2 per tasting if you wish to try before buying).

Lovely vineyard with a small cafe and a wonderful maze. You can spend a good hour at the maze ($40 for family of 5). Food is limited but seems to be quite nice (we didn't ordered any). If you are staying at or stopping by Port Macquarie, it is a worthwhile place to visit.
