Wilsons Promontory National Park
Find adventure and beauty at Wilsons Promontory National Park, offering visitors a chance to hike through a pristine landscape of native Australian wilderness and access a long stretch of white beaches suitable for swimming and surfing. This site, popularly called "The Prom," is one of Australia’s most popular national parks, easily accessible from Melbourne and featuring over 80 kilometers (50 mi) of walking trails. The area held significance for several indigenous tribes, who populated this part of Australia when the promontory formed a land bridge connecting the mainland to Tasmania. Today, the park is home to varied wildlife, including kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, emus, and birds. Highly popular with bushwalkers and campers, the park offers a number of lodges and serviced camping areas near the mouth of Tidal River.
