Ski, snowboard, and hike on the wide glacial slopes of Kitzsteinhorn. Use the railway to reach the summit at 3,035 m (9,957 ft) above sea level. Find the logbook in the cabinet attached to the iron cross, and leave a personal note. Trek down the sides of the mountain, but look out for snow holes and slippery slopes. Enjoy music, drinks, and snacks at the bar or the huge sun deck at 2,500 m (8,202ft) above sea level. The snow park features various rails, tubes, wall rides, and kicker lines for beginners and pros. Some tracks occasionally close because of strong winds. See Kitzsteinhorn and all Kaprun has to offer by arranging your trip with our Kaprun route website.

  • What is not to love about this place the views are stunning . We were lucky with the weather, as we could see for miles in all directions. The journey to the Top of Salzburg is spectacular. We went...

  • The oldest glacier ski resort in Austria. Good infrastructure, decent slopes. Training slopes available free of charge, but you need to book it at least a month in advance. The access to the training slopes is either through gondola lift, or pretty long t-bar lift.Great views, pretty good restaurants.
  • Literally fantastic glacier ski resort, starting from 1950m above sea level, ending in 2950m above sea level. That's amazing! When you're more experienced skier, try Nr. 14 "Black Mamba" slope, which is very steep. Also the views from the platform in 3029m above sea level are beautiful. Highly recommended ski resort.
  • Great glacier ski area with very reliable snow conditions. Big enough to find pistes of your interest and ability and to explore. When lower areas of Kaprun, Zell am See, and Saalbach-Hinterglemm are not so good, it can get very crowded here. On the other side, when the lower ski resorts are good, the Kitzsteinhorn is very quiet and even better to visit.
  • Took my family to the Kitzsteinhorn Skiarea (total of six). —> It took us 3h to get to the top! You need basically 4 rides to get up there. On January 04th at every station we were waiting 30 to 45min. Especially the cable car setup between Gletscher Jet 1 and 2 is from my perspective a total fail planning. The arriving carriage capacity at Langwied point is 3times the departure capacity to the next level/to the top. That leads to chaos, extreme waiting time and a lot of frustration. There is improvement potential in the topological setup of the cable cars. Never the less. The Skiing at the glacier, the Hohe Tauern National Park and the View over the Mountains are spectacular! Interesting experience, spending 7h in the ski area and only skiing for 90min is frustrating, not even taking in to account the price of the lift tickets.
  • Excelent place for a complete winter break...love the freeride runs especially when there's pow...very tasty food and friendly staff, the lifts/gondolas are fast enough and plenty there is even a connection directly to 3K from the valley. The views at 3K panorama plato and restaurant are mesmerizing.
