The terminal at the top of the mountain has nearby restaurants and is surrounded by rocky walking paths, so be sure to wear shoes with good traction. Tickets are purchased on a timed basis, and there is heavy demand for mid-morning departures, so plan your visit accordingly. For the best views, sit on the left-hand side on the way up and the right-hand side on the way down. Note that only one-way tickets are available for purchase, so remember to book your return journey once you reach the top. Glorious trip across the lake, followed by spectacular railway journey up the mountain and lunch at the hotel overlooking the lakes and mountains. It is definitely one of Austria's Must Do's.
