At Kaiserliche Schatzkammer Wien discover such legendary objects as the 8th-century Holy Lance, once regarded as the Holy Grail, or the horn of a unicorn. Set in 21 rooms of the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, this site exhibits Habsburg treasures and insignia. Two collections--secular and ecclesiastical--cover over 1,000 years of European history. See how numerous imperial artifacts glorify the political power and geographical reach of the Habsburg dynasty. Do not miss the Imperial Crown, Orb, and Scepter of Austria, and the Imperial Crown of the Holy Roman Empire. The secular collection features such curiosities as the largest cut emerald in the world and the cradle of Napoleon's son. We compelted a self guided tour and found the displays impressive and quite detailed. The presentation is first class, and the opulence there for all to see.

So secretive it took me a few turns to find it. So secretive the doors are made vault-like. So secretive everything is set in such dim lights I almost feel asleep, if not because I was walking...

Surprisingly large this museum contains a large number of vestments, holy relics and imperial items. I'd recommend buying the audio guide for 5 euros so you can appreciate the items in greater detail. Don't be too occupied with taking photos as it's hard to get a nice shot through the glass. If you have the time in Vienna ,this place deserves a visit. Allow 60 mins.

Amazing experience for sure! There is a myriad of history to walk through and observe. My son learned so much information that he is still parsing through it in his brain and with all the pictures he took. I'd recommend to get the joint ticket to also see the natural history museum across the street. It will save you some money.

Entry ticket for adults is 14 euros, the museum is not that large. It contains a lot of religious artefacts besides the jewelry pieces like crosses, paintings and clothes. An interesting experience but I wouldn't recommend it due to the fact that it's a relatively small museum, you won't spend more than 30-40 minutes there.

The place is located inside of the Hofburg palace. The place is not big but it worth the visit. The collection is very interesting and well aranged. Some things are amazing. It took us about an hour. I assume that if you take audio guide it will take your more time.

It was an interesting place, being qble to see the history of The Hapsburg's, HRE, and Vienna. I do go for the sole purpose of seeing the Imperial Crown but unfortunately It was removed for time being :( I would recommend going here for any history lovers.
