Create an itinerary including Peterskirche
The Baroque exterior of Peterskirche conceals architectural treasures inside. The interior of this Roman Catholic church features exquisite golden stucco, pews adorned with cherubic heads, and striking gold and silver statues. Built between 1701 and 1733, the church's ornate construction includes the work of many artists. Once inside, notice the frescoes in the turreted dome. Around the dome, examine depictions of the four evangelists and four fathers of the church. Enjoy the detailing on the gilded ornate pulpit and the golden representation of the Holy Trinity above. • The interior is worth a visit, and the concerts held within even more. Very variable; positively particular to see the Hebrew word for god in one of the main wall paintings.

  • Peter`s kirche is off Gaben. At side of Hermes shop. Hundreds of years old and beautiful. It can be clearly seen from the Belvedere Palace along with St. Stephen`s Cathedral.

  • Amazingly beautiful. I'd risk saying the most beautiful and colourful church in Vienna. It's free to visit, opened for most of the day and definitely a recommendation to anyone. The multiple altars, paintings and ceiling are something not to miss. Very close to St. Stephan's Cathedral, but as well worth the visit of not more (and with the bonus that is free).
  • A lovely church that is also utilized to hold the nightly concerts. It is beautifully built and well-maintained. It seems that the air isolation wasn't done so well so it can get quite chilly if the weather is a bit cold out there. Regularly the church is probably free of charge for entry but for the concert do you have to get tickets ahead of time.
  • Amazing church - somehow much less tourists than St. Stephan Church, but I love this one way more. The colorful marbles are breathtaking; the gold is a nice touch added. There’s a lot of interior decoration, but still gives an elegant vibe and not overwhelming the viewers. Would highly recommend a visit!
  • I went to a classical concert at this church. It was all absolutely incredible, from how stunning the church is to how beautiful the concert was! Amazing idea to have this type of event at a church, the acoustics were great!
  • Beautiful little church hosting evening classical music concerts of a very high standard. The inside is overwhelming with baroque style. Excellant acoustics and small audience numbers. Very special
