Hirkan National Park is an almost 30,000-hectare expanse of pristine forest in the subtropical regions of Lankaran and Astara. The park spreads between the near-Caspian lowlands and the Talysh Mountains and is famous for its astonishing wealth of flora; there are roughly 150 endemic tree species, the most symbolic being the ironwood tree. Many animals also call the park home, most notably the endangered Caucasian leopard, but also brown bears, wolves, jackals, wild cats and much more. The park can be experienced through hiking and ecotourism. Put Hirkan National Park on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Astara online trip planner.
