Create an itinerary including Six-Domed Synagogue
Located in Red Village, whose inhabitants are Mountain Jews, Six-Domed Synagogue was erected in 1888, designed by local architect Hillel Ben-Hayyim. Oriental in style, it is topped by six domes symbolising a six-day journey undertaken in the 18th century by Jews migrating to Red Village from elsewhere in the region. During the Soviet era it was repurposed as a sewing factory, but reopened for prayers in 1991. A 5-year restoration project completed in 2000 later gave the synagogue a new lease of life and cemented it as an iconic landmark in north-eastern Azerbaijan. • I visited synagogue at Jewish community. People were kind and welcoming. It was a beautiful experience.
  • Altı günbəz sinaqoqu - Grand Jews Synagogue located in red town also know as six dome Synagogue. It was closed when we visited.
  • The grand synagogue was closed when we visited, so unfortunately we couldn't visit from inside. The building is beautiful and architecture is great from outside. The architecture of all of Red Village Quba is very good. However you just need to check before visiting if it's open or not. We visited another synagogue nearby which was open then, Gilaki Synagogue.
  • A beautiful synagogue with a real sense of calm and peace.
  • The Six-Domed Synagogue is a synagogue built in 1888 based on the project of architect Gilel ben Chaim, located on Isaac Khanukov Street in the Red Settlement of Guba District. The six domes (the synagogue also has 6 corners) are a symbol of the residents of the Gilgat neighborhood in the settlement who moved here from the vicinity of the Qaladuz village within 6 days with the permission of Guba Khan Huseynali Khan. The temple has 14 main windows. Rosh Hashanah, the holiday of the people who have never been persecuted in Azerbaijan, is celebrated here. It is strictly forbidden to take pictures, light candles, ride in cars, and film in synagogues until October 9.
