Create an itinerary including Diri Baba Mausoleum
With two stories, Diri Baba Mausoleum dates to the 15th century. According to legend, Diri Baba, a holy man, is buried there in an undisclosed location. Other legends added more mystical details, which made the place a focus for pilgrims since the 17th century. The entire complex is built inside the rock and from the side, the impression is created that the tomb is suspended in the air. Climb the stairs to the second floor, where you will find the most interesting part of the mausoleum, a room with a vaulted dome, a stone carved decoration and a memorial to Sheikh Ibrahim on the wall. As you climb the floors you will notice more ancient and mysterious inscriptions. Through the narrow passage in the northern wall you can reach the cave, where the holy place is buried. • An interesting spot to visit. During our visit, there was quite a lot of renovation taking place which is good to see.

  • We visited this place on our way to Shamakhi....the mausoleum is built directly in the cliff face...the stairs are very high & uneven....From the top you get a view of surrounding area.

  • An interesting monument which seems to be about all major religions. There are numerous caves around this building unfortunately not everybody is eager to visit them. Personally I consider those caves to be far more interesting than this main monument although this one has gained the highest amount of attention and fame.
  • Worth seeing tourists attraction The way going inside is stiff and narrow. The only I don’t like is there is no steel hand rails in the stairs esp from ground to the mosque - need safety measure. Entrance for tourists is 5AZN From gate to main site maybe 500m Then upstair, you have to fill-up form
  • Good experience to see the place. 5Manat entry fee. Only one building is accessible. Caves, mountain top etc not allowed to visit.
  • Interesting place to visit to learnt about the ancient time during Silk Road. However, nothing much to see in the caves
  • Visited recently...snowing but very interesting place. A lady guide explained the historical essence of the structure very well.
