Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military History
Located in Cinquantenaire Park, Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and of Military History houses aircraft, weaponry, uniforms, and vehicles from all the nations that participated in World Wars I and II. Tightly packed into two halls in the park's northern complex, the exhibits are dense and visually stimulating. Consider combining your visit to museum with a trip to the park. The hall where the artifacts are housed was meant to be temporary, but expanded to a permanent space with a domed, glass roof that is easy to spot from most areas in the park. A great museum for all ages! There is a huge amount of things to see and you can spend hours and hours in the museum without seeing the time pass. There a lot of important and rare historical pieces and their collection is very rich. A part of the museum has been renowned not long ago which modernized the museum a lot. I highly recommend this museum if you have some time to spend in Brussels!

Huge museum, with many interesting exhibits from medals to tanks and planes. And the panoramic view from the Arcades du Cinquantenaire is amazing! We spent there the whole day, and it was not enough. It's perfect as well for kids and adults, especially if you are interested in history. Of course, it's worth visiting and I recommend it!

Very large and well organized museum. Covers military history from swords to jets but much of the focus is on WW II. If you are at all interested in military history you should plan on spending several hours here. The admission price is reasonable, the staff speaks English and was very helpful, and a surprise: the Sky Cafe was quite good and not expensive. One negative... Most of the exhibits are documented but not in English.

The park and then the museums are must-sees for everyone who comes to Brussels. I am avid for history and wars in particular, the museum covers it all, it is no surprise if you would take a full day or more to cover everything, as you go up till the roof! The arms going from simple knives to heavy artillery, aircrafts and navy models... It's literally wonderland, Alice! Splendid stuff!

Of all the military museums I have visited within the US and abroad...this one takes the cake...bar none! We definitely plan to go back as we short-changed ourselves by only planning to be there for around 90 mins...easily need 3-4 hours. I promise you and your kids (we had all three of ours with us) will not be bored. This was our #2 museum (Natural Sciences was #1) during our 3 day weekend stay in Brussels.
