  • This gothic church is definitely the highlight of the city. Especially the beautiful pulpit deserves so much.

  • Nice cathedral in the city center. It seems to be used as a temple as well so it is well maintained. It has a lot of history, so a longer visit is advised. Great glass panes as well!
  • Nice cathedral. Less nice is the expo of photos of different families where on photo has been destroyed with ugly text- guess which one? Narrow minded people really who really need to accept all people - especially in a church. But rest of cathedral is really nice
  • We obviously went for the statue of Lucifer, which was devastatingly beautiful. We couldn't stop looking at it and with every detail it kept getting more fascinating. The rest of the church is very beautiful, big colourful windows, but there's a part (the treasurer) which I assume you need to pay a ticket for, and it doesn't look interesting at all. I think if you just go to the church it's good, and it wouldn't take you more than 30 mins. I wish they had little statues of Lucifer or something you could take home other than the postcard (the picture in which is not that good quality either)
  • Liège Cathedral, also known as St. Paul's Cathedral, is a church with a history dating back to the 10th century. Although the current building only dates back to the 13th century. Like many cathedrals dating from this period, the church is a nice example of Gothic architecture. Some of the most outstanding features of the building include the highly ornate altarpiece of the abbey chapel, the classical Greek inspired Baroque sculpture of St John the Baptist, the ribbed vault of the nave, with its golden ribs and its vaults coated and painted with rinceaux common to French Gothic styles. The cathedral also has the usual collection of beautiful stained glass windows, some which have very contemporary designs that complement the more traditional ones. A very unusual feature of the cathedral is the pulpit. There’s a sculpture of Lucifer at the back of the pulpit. Sadly, the cathedral is currently undergoing renovation, so much of the facade is hidden under scaffolding. The church is still a must visit in Liege.
  • #LiègeCathedral #ForFree Beautiful building, with a lot of sacred artworks inside (paintings, sculptures, coloured glasses,...) Some of these art works are from regional artists (Jean Delcour, Lambert Lombard,...) between the Middle Age till nowadays. So it is worthy to pay a visit. You can also visit the Cathedral Museum, but you must pay for it.
