Trip Planner: Europe / Belgium / Wallonia / The Ardennes / Liege Province / Spa / Les Thermes de Spa
Embrace the tranquility of a healing retreat with a city view at Les Thermes de Spa. A park surrounds the spa, allowing you to immerse yourself in a natural setting. An indoor area protected by a glass dome offers tiered circular pools where visitors can soak and swim. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are heated, so no matter what weather's like outside, you'll be cozy in the water. Visit the fitness center and then relax your muscles in the saunas, hammams, and heating lamps. Treatments are available the day of your visit, but book in advance to guarantee your treatment type and time of choice. Put Les Thermes de Spa on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Spa travel planner.

It's basically a big public mineral pool ($25 for 3 hours, per person). There are some jets and water features, but basically just a pool. If you are in Spa and have time to kill, might as well check it off your list...but don't go out of your way to see it. Honestly, it's weird. I wouldn't go again.
Add a bit more zen to the commercial aspect with regards to the treatments à l’Institut. Now very much a factory approach…in and out. However, giving people 5 minutes to wind down after treatment, an explanation of how to improve skincare, and why products are recommended, would already make a difference. Even the receptionist - where the products can be bought - doesn’t explain the why, what and how of what was written down on that paper we were given (in fact, she was quite rude). In short, customer experience to be improved à l’Institut. On the other hand, the ladies downstairs at the entrance are amazing!
Totally disappointed with Thermes de Spa! I had in mind it's a health resort, it turns out to be just a place with a fancy big pool included 2 jacuzzis in it (I must say; the design of this big pool is quite nice and impressive!) Then an open relax area with some lamps on top of the chairs (The floor was wet and slippery and so noisy from the big pool plus some swiches for the lamps were not even working). A huge wet changing room and a restaurant. As luckily we also booked the body massage. We got a better service which we could exclusively using a private lift to go to the 2nd floor, where you could have a quiet pleasant restaurant for lunch. Much better changing room with shower facilities and a 100% quiet relaxing room where I got a relaxing day by spending most of the time there in between the sauna and hammam. Actually one could get all these facilities and services in many exclusive gym too! No need to come all the way here! So because we paid extra for the body massage. We could get the better hospitality out of the facilities. But the worst part was the body massage that I was looking forwards to so much was a disaster! In my life I had so many body massages in many different countries. In my experience this must be the worst one. Sorry it was not a massage! All I could describe was like someone kept APPLYING some oil all over your body! There were no rubbing or don't even mention massaging. Isn't body massage means massage from neck to toes? This is the first time I had a body massage was from neck to ankle. She never did my feet? I wonder how could Thermes de Spa could send an apprentice instead of a qualified massagist to their customers?? The 1 point I gave here was for my lunch. Very good choices and fair price for the buffet lunch.
Overall a good experience. It was really good to disconnect from your cellphone for a change and just relax. I have to say the people working there are really helpful and have the patience to explain how things work. Some things for them to check is that people sometimes do not respect the rules concerning the silent areas or the fact that is not allowed reserving chairs in the pool area, or to have cellphones for that matter. The buffet lunch was only OK but a bit overpriced for me. I recommend to go to the bar next to the pool.
Good experience overall, can see why it’s popular and gives you the opportunity to relax with a variety of pools and spas available. Don’t forget the sunscreen if outside!
