The world's only Jaguar reserve, Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Preserve sprawls over 150 sq m (1614 sq ft), making it Belize's largest protected area. Toward the eastern side of the reserve, a series of bio-diverse jungle trails weave through thick forest floors, beneath canopies full of over 300 species of bird. Due to the elusive nature of the Jaguar, don't expect to spot one amongst the undergrowth, however the visitor center will happily provide you with plenty of information about the sanctuary's feline inhabitants.
