Walk through the history of Bolivia during a tour at Museo Casa de la Libertad, a modest yet interesting museum dedicated to the country's past. The exhibits take you through Bolivian history, with artifacts from the time of the independence movement to modern day, including maps of the Spanish colonies, the armor of conquistadors, and swords. See the original Declaration of Independence for Bolivia and portraits of nearly all of Bolivia's presidents, too. At the attraction you can take a tour or walk through on your own, but keep in mind that most tours are only available in Spanish. By using our Sucre day trip planner, you can arrange your visit to Museo Casa de la Libertad and other attractions in Sucre.

Beautiful rooms with lots of interesting things to look at. The courtyard was very sunny. An original flag was in a protective case. Some lovely pieces of furniture too.

The importance itself is huge, literally this place was where Bolivia foundation took place many years ago. Therefore every detail and symbols means a lot. My issue is related how the museum is not doing effort to explain how independence got acchieved, who were the founding fathers and how Sucre were important to achieve independence. This museum must improve those issues in order to explain how freedom was acchieved. Cash only, because pandemic there are non available stuff to show, the museum is expanding. Worth to visit if you love Bolivian history. Overall 6/10, I was expecting more :(

Amazing museum about the history of Bolivia. Our tour guide was well versed on the history and historic facts. It was both interesting and a great learning opportunity. The guide mentioned that they will be expanding the museum since they were able to purchas the house next door, so 2021 will have more exhibition rooms. This is a must visit if you want to learn more about the history of Bolivia.

Great place to learn about the history of Bolivia and South America in general. The small entrance fee includes a tour guide and is worth every penny.

A nice museum right in the main Sucre plaza. Great place to learn about Bolivia's struggle for independence and about it's heroes in Simon Bolivar and Sucre. It was also cool to see the Bolivian constitution up close.

Let me tell you we didn’t go inside, ticket is BOB15. But you should not be indifferent to this building since it is the birthplace of the country. The independence declaration was signed here, therefore it is remarkable for Bolivian and South America’s history. Beautifully kept colonial style building like all the others around Sucre.
