Create an itinerary including Geiser Sol de la Manana
Set within a geothermal field in an area of intense volcanic activity, Geiser Sol de la Manana actually represents a steam pool of boiling mud frequently spouting muddy water. The hot steam of the "geyser" reaches heights of between 3 and 50 m (10 to 164 ft) depending on the pressure. Walk over the sulfur springs field while watching the gurgling, bubbling mud and boiling lava--but don't get too close to the holes, since there are no railings you can hold on to. Put Geiser Sol de la Manana and other Uyuni attractions into our Uyuni vacation planner, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • One of the most spectacular geyser areas I have ever seen, at a height of 5000 meters and the best moments of the trip. I definitely recommend it to everyone!

  • The place is a geothermal area that extends over 10 sq. klm in an altitude between 4,800m to 5,000m. The volcanic activity is significant, while the sulphur springs and mud lakes steam non stop. Bolivia made a geothermal energy plant in order to sell the stored energy to Chile, but the exploitation of the site is uneconomic.
  • It's worth getting up early, but you have to dress warmly.
  • Feel the force(and smell) of nature! At high altitude, it does get windy around the geysers but what an incredible sight to see it. Definitely worth the experience.
  • The best time to visit is 30 minutes before sunrise! Photographers should pay attention ;) Strong winds after 12pm which dispels steam.
  • Very interesting place located at altitude of around 4900m nice seen at sunrise while its not windy. Sol De Manana geysers futures intense volcanic activity and the sulphur springs field with full of mud lakes and steam pools with boiling mud. Although very tempting, it is recommended to be self aware and do not get too close to any of the active spots, as well as strong wind might blow the steam and gas in your direction.
