Create an itinerary including Isla Incahuasi
An otherworldly island seemingly out of place in the middle of the salt flats, Isla Incahuasi represents the primary destination for most organized tours to the flats. From the hilly island, you can view the vastness of the salt flats all around you, stretching as far as you can see. Cacti cover the 24 hectare (61 acre) island, and you'll also find a tourist center catering to the many visitors who gather here every day. Make the 15-minute climb to the top of the hill for an even more awe-inspiring view of this supernatural landscape. Add Isla Incahuasi and other attractions to your Uyuni trip itinerary using our Uyuni tour planning website.

  • Nice oasis in the middle of nowhere, we had breakfast here on salt tables and chairs. You have to pay a small sum to visit the hill, but it is worth it in my opinion. The view from the top is quite nice, especially at dawn or while the sun is still rising low on the horizon. You can even camp close to the hill for the night, if you need to plant a tent or something.
  • Small island in the middle of the salt lake. Entrance fee is 30BOB. There is a short hiking path to the top. There you will enjoy a beautiful 360 view. The stop here is part of the Uyuni salt tour.
  • What a history... ...behind such a mystery! A cactus oasis in the middle of the salty salar. This makes you wonder what happened years ago for such a magnificent nature. The journey to reach this was is quite incredible. Watch the sunrise from the Isla Incahuasi and be in bliss. This is something you don't want to miss when you're in Bolivia. A must!
  • Okay to visit for view and watching cactus. Small island in size.
  • We enjoyed this. We paid to go in and it as a short bit of a hike to get to the top. Some people were winded. It's in the middle of no where and incredible. I say pay- it supports the people who live there. We met some other kids that just walked around it to find the cactus on the out rim that looked like a mans XXXX. They said they found it. That was their priority :p
