The Museum/Casa Margarida Maria Alves deals with reports on the history of women from Paraíba who fought for agrarian reform and the end of coronelismo in the marsh and wild region of Paraíba. She was mysteriously murdered and her case remains unsolved to this day, even after decades of prosecution. But its history remains and its legacy can be seen in a deeper way in this beautiful museum.

Margarida Maria Alves (1932-1983) served in the Rural Workers Union of Alagoa Grande/PB as treasurer and then president, from 1971 until her death. During her tenure, hundreds of lawsuits were filed against planters and mill owners in the region who overexploited workers, which made her a great political leader. He also fought for basic rights for urban workers to be respected, such as a formal contract, 13th salary, 8-hour workday and annual vacations. In 2001, the house where Margarida and her family lived, the scene of the brutal murder, became a museum. There are still exposed instruments of rural work (contextualizing the work in the field at the time), newspapers that reported the murder (a fact of great local, national and international repercussion), letters and testimonies, birth, marriage, death certificates, several photographs , Daisy's personal items, household objects, posters, books, DVDs, and many other items.
