Named after the Japanese-Brazilian artist of the same name, the Instituto Tomie Ohtake is one the city’s best art venues. Exhibits rotate regularly and often showcase breathtaking photography, chin-scratching avant-garde sculpture, and even art in advertising and decorative arts. The building was designed by Tomie Ohtake’s son and sports a purple and burgundy striped skyscraper that will make you say “wow.” For travelers who use our custom trip planner, Sao Paulo holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Instituto Tomie Ohtake and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • I went to the Tomie Ohtake Institute today and it was great fun, there were a few interesting art displays to look at. There is also a great restaurant/Cafe on the lower level with plenty of good food. There are also some great places across the road to eat. Entry was free
  • Only 2 floors of art. They’re WiFi didn’t work. It’s a beautiful building. In the past, there were more floors of art displayed so I wanted to see more this time.
  • Very pleasant to walk around, with some interesting peices. Some exhibitions are chargeable but the main area is free. Some floors are empty.
  • I went to an art exhibition and the place looked adequate for the occasion. There was a catering team serving drinks and appetizers so I guess it has a good infrastructure to hold these kind of events.
  • Gorgeous building, space, art. Lovely
