Aquae Calidae - Thermopolis, Burgas

Immerse yourself in the magical history of this place. The guide is extremely knowledgeable, there is a nice wooded area behind it with a playground where you can walk around. Bring empty water bottles that you can fill with hot mineral water. Be mindful that the showings happen on every hour and if you are late you must wait for the next one. They will soon be opening an active healing base as part of the complex.

This place is amazing the people there are very nice. When you enter they give you a headphone and radio receiver then you go in sit on one of the places and wait for the projection to start. When it starts you hear audio thru the headphone and look at the ceiling where the projection is and it lasts for about 8 minutes

“It’s A Great place to visit unfortunately it’s under construction. And it was closed when we visited due to Christmas period. Didn’t go to museum but I’m sure it’s definitely a worth to visit to understand the history of this mineral water period where this place became well known back in ages. And how awesome not only this place but majority of Bulgaria provide free water and you can get/take as much as you want.

Great appropriation of funding by the municipality to destroy public bath and build a tourist attraction instead. At least it was done well. You can still enjoy healing procedures at the various medical centers and spa hotels in the area. Nice voice guide and a lot of information to absorb if you care about history and such. It kind of looks unfinished but I guess digging is work in progress.

There is an interesting story about this location which includes many centuries and quite famous personalities from the past that have been connected to the location somehow. A museum provides more information about the bath, and outside one can have a walk through the ancient ruins. It is a small location of a significant meaning to the city of Burgas which can be thoroughly reviewed in 15 - 30 minutes.
