  • This is a time travel to the communist Bulgaria in the 80s. Small, very simple but one of the most successful museums I ever visited. It makes you live the experience. They allow you to touch and feel anything inside the flat. They have also amazingly detailed audio tour that is quite long, which will explain in meticulous details most of the objects inside the house. The lasy who works there is unbelievably helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my trip big time. Thank you so much
  • I rarely stay for long in a museum nor take tours as I don't want to listen. I stayed at the Red Flat for 1 hr 20 minutes and it's four small rooms. I listed on earphones all of the 46 stories except for 2 sports stories. This exhibit is simply brilliant. It weaves the furniture, the furnishings, and stories of the family who lived there before, during and after the fall that connect you to the 80s in a compelling and immersive way. You can even touch most stuff. You get tickets in the gift store from the man who conceived and implemented the concept. Certainly worth ever minutes compared to museums who put stuff in locked cases. I loved watching a mother, there, explain to her 10 year old son what a rotary dial phone and telephone book were. He was fascinated by ancient things.
  • Had the most amazing experience in this interactive museum! Literally beyond words! You get lost in the story wearing the headphones and hearing the audio guide, moving around and touching anything you want. You get invested in the story of the family and lose track of time. Truly a must visit when you're visiting Sofia. It helps you a lot to understand the history of the country if you're interested in learning about it and understanding more about the culture and the influence that period of time had in it. Again, out of words! Don't miss it!! The price is also totally worth it too, don't hesitate... We spent 2 full hours there and felt like we've learned so much! We get to learn what you can't learn from the history books, the story of the people...and that's honestly beautiful! Last but certainly not least, the guy working there was extremely polite, helpful and friendly! INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE
  • The experience is incredible, and you can absolutely touch, read, and play with everything. There's no interdiction or anything alike whatsoever. There are books, newspapers, and products from the 40-80s, which is sensational. I recommend visiting this place. Good to know : You will be provided with a headset and an mp3 player to guide you along the 1h30-long visit. Could've been better : Explaining how the mp3 plays works, and how it fits the visit. For all the people who are about to visit the red flat : The mp3 contains 40 pieces of audio, and each and every audio corresponds to one of the 40 points to visit in the flat. The audio is in English / other languages if needed. Last : The mp3 player has 5 buttons, the two lower control the volume, the two upper enable to go to the previous / next track, and the round button on the front is to play / pause. Last thing : Although the experience in itself was absolutely wow, I felt that it was too crowded. Having ~10 people at the same time in such a small place is very inconvenient.
  • Very unique experience with a lot of detail in the audio tour provided. The tour talks through the life of an average 3 person family that would have resided in the apartment. It allows you to really picture what life would have been like for the family. Truly stepping into a time machine. Two small critiques. 1) During our visit it got a bit packed in the apartment. Understandably this was likely during peak time. 2) Length. It was jam packed with detail which for personally I enjoyed, but others in our group found it a bit lengthy as a result. Perhaps if there was a shorter more condensed (15mins) version with a lower price, and also a lengthier(current) version.
