Marvel at the magnificent stone remains of a pyramid-shaped temple-mountain at Pre Rup, a masterpiece of ancient Hindu masonry built in 961 CE. Dedicated to Shiva, intricately carved stone facades cropped and darkened by time and weather offer an awe-inspiring spectacle for visitors approaching and climbing the huge 127 m by 116 m (417 m by 380 ft) elevated platform. Believed to have been used for cremations, this impressive brick and sandstone structure, built on what was once a man-made island, displays warm colors and the magical play of light and shade. After conquering a steep stairway leading to the structure, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama over the area. • Not a favourite of our self-guided tour, but totally worth the visit. Good climbing to the top of it.

  • Amazing, wonderful! Beautiful carvings and awesome temples in a peaceful environment! We were there at corona times, so it was even more quite and free from tourists so we can make perfect photos. It has higher terraces and it's really worth the effort to get to the top. From there, the scenery is breathtaking! If you are visiting Angkor it's a must!!! Thank you for this amazing experience!
  • The temple layout is unique in its pyramid shape. Its also older than Angkor Wat being built in the 10th century, and the material is sandstone and gives off a reddish color. Its definitely a must see temple on a tour.
  • Be careful When You walk On the stair up..Deep.. i a bit Afraid. HaHaHa. But she is very nice bread really all very interesting very amazing so good. You can walk up on there 2 places Original stair and Easy Stair Easy to Walk up and Down
  • This was the last of 5 temples we saw on this trip, so we're starting to get a little temple fatigue. That said, this is one of the most important temple mountains marking the transition from pre to classic period. The steps to the upper terrace are quite steep so may prove difficult for those with mobility issues.
  • Very underrated temple. The structure is well preserved than most other temples. The best part is the sunset the temple turns to gold and the place is not over crowded. The drawback is they don't allow you to stay pass 5:30pm anymore and the temple is quite far, but still highly recommend
