  • Rented a canoe and went up to Joe Lake. Stopped off at the Tom Thomson memorial. Excellent an enjoyable in Spring and Summer and Fall is fantastic with the leaves are changing.

  • I've wanted to visit this lake for year because this is where Tom Thomson (my favourite artist) died. There were a lot of people but the area was still clean and beautiful. The store and restaurant...

  • Fall colours were almost in full effect when we visited in mid-October. A nice place to grab a bite/drink and take some photos.
  • Great access starting point for both interior trippers and campground campers for the convenience of amenities from the Portage Store and Permit Office. Tom Thomson's cairn and totem is located at Hayhurst Point at the north end of Canoe Lake. Canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals and complete Outfitting packages are available at the Portage Store. Campground deliveries available daily.
  • Had a picnic here while it was closed. No one else there, it was beautiful. Looks like a great place to go on a canoe or kayak adventure.
  • Amazing site and only 3hrs away from the city. Looking forward to spring time
  • Clean and well maintained access point
