  • It wasn’t in use at the time of my visit. The basic science is great but maintenance and repairs are a problem. Shows how much interest there is in Canada for alternative energy sources.

  • It is worth going to see the TGstation, there is a talk and lots of explanations on the system. The time to see and hear all about it is probably about an hour.

  • This tide-based power generating station is a beautiful art deco like building. The facility itself is not operating. A part broke a few months ago and it apparently will take several more months before it’s received and things can restart. What is truly interesting is to sit and listen to the docent, an accomplished engineer, explain how tidal generating stations work, why they won’t work everywhere and what the future of tidal energy might be. Totally worth our time.
  • This was a spur of the moment stop for us on a day of driving through the countryside on Route 1. Les the Interpreter was great conducting the tour. If you are interested in things mechanical don’t miss this stop.
  • Was pretty impressed, until environmentalists got it shut down!
