  • A good site in the town free to walk the grounds and ramparts with a great view down the river as you can see water level rise as the tide rushes in.One can imagine this site in it's hayday.

  • What an amazing piece of history and great place to stop and take in the views. So many historical pieces to see, great convenient parking. If you like places of importance that helped shape the local area this is definitely a place to visit. Convenient to access all the amenities of Annapolis Royal.
  • Of all the fort buildings only the garrisons quarters now stand which is a museum. Entrance fee is reasonable ($4 odd). Expect to spend about 45 min to an hour if you read everything. Outside the grounds are very scenic. Great place to watch the tides come in and out.
  • Scenic and well maintained, we really enjoyed walking around the fort, reading and seeing the historic features. Helped us understand English presence here in 1700-1800s. One of best spots to visit in Nova Scotia!
  • We arrived after hours so just did the adequate self-tour around the perimeter. There are many signs that provide the history and this is a beautiful place to walk and explore.
  • Great historic site! The tour was excellent, and we learned so much (many things about Canadian history I, sadly, did not know). A must see for any Canadian!
