  • I am glad we went into the museum to check it out. It gave a nice history of the place. There are nice grounds to walk around and beautiful views of the ocean.

  • Wonderful place to visit! Highly recommended. It’s a fantastic reconstruction of the original site dating back to 1605, rarely ever accomplished in history, anywhere, as they typically never go back that far! In this often uncertain time of cancel-culture, it’s refreshing to see a historic heritage site to remind us where we came from, and how blessed and fortunate we truly are. We must embrace our history, both good and bad, and learn from our successes and our mistakes, so that we leave behind a better world for our future generations.
  • A recreated site of the original settlement in an estimated location. Worth a stop. Entrance fee is reasonable ($4 odd). The guide map does a good job of explaining the buildings so be sure to grab one. The grounds are very scenic as well.
  • Really neat site with a reconstruction of a 1605 site. Very few places in North America go back that far. Interpreters on site help making it alive. It’s a quick visit and totally free if you have your Parks Canada pass.
  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff! Was fun to stand in a fur trading post just like the ones illustrated in an 1980's elementary social studies text book. History come to life! Was sad there wasn't archeological evidence to support the current reconstruction, but it is beautiful!
  • Small fee, big value — what a fabulous reconstruction and story. Fascinating and scenic…we learned tons of Acadian history, enjoyed the structures, furnishings and explanation. Superb!
