Create an itinerary including Bow Lake
Hike into the mountains to the picturesque Bow Lake and appreciate memorable views of the Canadian Rockies. Head to the lake early in the day to see the mountain tops in the distance casting a reflection on the water. Hike around the water on the lakeside trail for more views of the mountains and the Bow River, and keep your eyes peeled for Bow's Glacier. Remember to take your own water and snacks, as refreshments are hard to come by in the area. • Spectacular Lake on the way to Jasper!!! A quick stop when driving through Banff/Jasper Icefield Parkway. Stunning views of Mountains and Glaciers. Great place to stop and click pictures with the beautiful backdrop of Glaciers. You can enjoy walking near the lake’s shoreline which offers some stunning views. You can see the reflection of mountains. Parking is available near the lake and lookout point. A must visit place when visiting Banff and Jasper!! Don’t forget to slow down when reaching this lake otherwise you will miss this stop. Highly recommend!!
  • Bow Lake, the most picturesque lake in Banff National Park, is located along Icefield Parkway at an altitude of 1920 m. It is surrounded by majestic mountains and is fed by crystal clear water from melted glaciers. It is beautiful at any time of the year. In summer, the shores of the lake are painted with alpine flowers. In autumn, it is decorated with golden-red foliage of bushes. A soft blanket of snow covers the shores in winter. And spring awakens life and brings new freshness.
  • Beautiful location with a lodge for food at 9:30am. It’s all about photography here. Get up early and watch the mist roll of the lake at sunrise. There was plenty of parking but also not a lot of people.
  • Bow Lake gets most of it water fron run off Bow Glacier. It is beautiful surrounded by mountains. You can see the glacier from distance and water falls. It is located on Icefieldss Parkway while driving from Banff to Jasper. Do not miss to stop on the way. There is a car parking lot and historic lodge next to the lake. There are also to overview stops overlooking the lake on Icefields Parkway.
  • Amazing lake! Huge and beautiful, you get to see two glaciers from it. I would say my favourite in Banff national park. It is also very easy to access compared to other lakes (far easier than Lake Louise and Moraine Lake)
