Create an itinerary including Hartland Covered Bridge
With a claim to the title of world's longest covered bridge, Hartland Covered Bridge spans 391 m (1,282 ft). Seven Howe truss bridges joined over six piers form this historic bridge, which was built in 1901. Until then, the only way to cross the Saint John River had been by ferry. In 1980 the bridge was declared a National Historic Site of Canada, originally built for vehicles but later expanded with a pedestrian walkway. At one end of the bridge you'll find a parking lot where you can stop, walk the length of the bridge, take photos, and visit the gift shop and visitor center. • This was really cool to drive through. Worth the visit. Not too far from the main highway only about 5 minutes out of your way.

  • A nice place to stop and have a look around. You can walk or drive along the bridge and there are picnic tables and a visitors centre nearby.

  • Lovely little town. Walking the Longest Covered Bridge and then driving on it was exciting. Had my mom with us who had a small covered bridge where she lived as a youngster and it brought great conversation. The chip stand by the visitor/ info place had the best fries I had in a real long time. The separated washrooms were adequate and clean.
  • Very beautiful spot on the St. John river. The history behind the bridge is interesting as well. Take a walk AND a drive across this iconic bridge, making sure to stop and look over the scenic landscape. Just beautiful. There is a very nice little village here to walk around in, as well. Check out all of my honest Google reviews. My photos have over 12,000,000 views!
  • Beautiful attraction. Historic bridge must-see. It has been there since 1899. Cute town. Walking across the entire length on the walkway while you can see vehicles passing by and back where you park. Souvenir at the gift store. . Please remember that when you drive, you have to wait until other vehicles drive first because ONE LANE is narrow. It happened to us, we had to reverse and let other vehicles on the bridge. Or you will end up feeling stuck or narrow your vehicle to other vehicles, like New York. What an embarrassment! Worthwhile to see. Kids enjoyed...
  • Such a beautiful covered bridge, i loved it. The longest covered bridge, solid amazing structure. You can't drive by without stopping to feel the bridge, and appreciate the stunning scenery. I wished I had more time there.
  • Such an amazing find. I wasn’t looking. Just happened to be driving by and I’m so glad I stopped. The longest covered bridge in the world and it’s right here in Canada. Who knew?!! Super sweet pretty little town too. So worth the detour.
