Step into daily Scandinavian life circa 790 CE to 1066 CE with a visit to Norstead Viking Village. This living history site depicts a Viking village or port of trade, complete with a boathouse, chieftain's hall, church, and blacksmith's shop. In the boathouse you'll find a 16 m (54 ft) replica Viking knarr, a merchant ship that sailed from Greenland to Newfoundland in 1998. Throughout the village you'll find enthusiastic and knowledgeable interpreters dressed in period costume who bring the site to life by showcasing how people lived. For example, you can watch demonstrations on knitting and cooking.     ......on the realism. Tents build with modern day plastic, wood fires using 2x4's as fuel. No one available to explain exhibits except in two spots. Go to the Nation Historic Site rather than here!!

    We did both the National Historical site and the village. Both were great. Would recommend this more so for families, more interactive. Very inviting and knowledgeable staff.
