It did not take long to convince Parks Canada that this would be a wonderful activity to offer visitors. As there is no other dog sledding in the area, it was an oddity indeed to see a dog team whisking people off the door step of Chateau Lake Louise. But the allure caught on quickly and today dogsledding is one of the most popular activities in the park.

Kingmik still remains the intimate and personable feel of the early days. We consider ourselves small but mighty, with just 50 amazing dogs, and 5 full time professional dog mushers.

We are the only dogsled company operating in Banff National Park, giving us exclusive rights to the trail systems.

Every sled is guided, which amounts to a guest to guide ratio of 2:1, and we run no more than 5 sleds per tour time. We feel that this enables guests to best experience the silent grace and beauty of dog mushing, amidst one of the most beautiful landscapes of the world.

  • This is by far the most amazing thing I have done. I have traveled to many places, seen many unique places, but this dogsledding experience is at the top of my list. If you love dogs, love the beauty of nature, then you MUST put this on your to-do list. In April, we stayed at Chateau Lake Louise. The pick-up spot is 2 minutes from the Chateau. Our 1.5 hour tour was not only informative, but fun! Once the dogs knew the mushers were getting ready, they barked and barked. These dogs are bred for this, it's in their blood, and makes them beyond happy. It is definitely worth the ticket price, I wouldn't hesitate to do it again in the future. Thank you Kingmik for such an amazing experience!
  • We had a wonderful experience with Kingmik Dog Sled Tours! This was one of the most fun activities we did when visiting Lake Louise. The dogs were so impressive, dedicated to their job and very sweet. Our guides, Jared and Alex, were friendly, very knowledgeable, and shared a lot of history about the area. My kids loved the sled ride and playing with the dogs. Highly recommend!
  • Incredible is an understatement! The landscape is beautiful, everybody is extremely kind and knowledgeable, and the dogs are the absolute sweetest. You can feel the guides’ love and dedication to their dogs and, even more so, feel how excited and happy the dogs are to be doing what they love! Our guide Jared was the best, explaining so much about dog sledding, how he got into it, the area, and, most importantly, all about the dogs’ individual personalities. This is has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I could not have had a better experience. 🤍🐾
  • My wife and I love dogs and enjoy the outdoors. Our 1.5 hour Great Divide tour was perfect. Megan described so many things to us including the personality of the dogs and how they are cared for during their sledding years and after they retire. A dog sled ride was a bucket list item for me and I wasn’t disappointed. My wife loved it just as much. We felt safe and well cared for throughout. The winter scenery was phenomenal and we were cozy warm under a provided comforter. We even got to feed the dogs a snack at the end.
  • What a great experience! The team is great; Cynthia was our driver and kept us entertained throughout. The dogs love what they do and are well-loved by their owners, in return. It was so fun to watch them going crazy with excitement before we took off, then settle right down once they got to take off and do what they love to do. Gorgeous winter wonderland mountain scenery was the icing on the cake! Well worth it!
